(Watching the weather for Sunday...)
Join us for another NYC adventure! You knowwwwww it will be a day to remember.
Here's the plan... We'll be riding the parkways down to the West Side Highway along the majestic Hudson River (goosebumps as the skyline unfolds) and stopping for lunch at the famed White Horse Tavern in the West Village (the 2nd oldest continually-operating tavern in NYC and claimed to be haunted by the ghost of Dylan Thomas!), then around the tip of Manhattan and the FDR along the East River, up the east-side past the UN, across town through Central Park and back to the West Side Highway, we'll ride over the GW Bridge to the Palisades (with a stop at a different scenic overlook than our last adventure) and then 9W to the Newburgh/Beacon Bridge and 287 where riders can choose to continue on to 684/84 or Hutchinson River/Merritt Pkwy home.
Meet: 10:00AM Orem's Diner, 167 Danbury Road, Wilton
KSU: 10:30AM
Leader: Bill A
Be sure to RSVP so we can make a reservation, please.

A bit more info: "Since 1880...originally a longshoreman's bar serving the men working the piers lining the Hudson River, "The Horse" became popular with writers and artists in the early 1950's... The White Horse was renowned as a gathering place for writers and poets. It is perhaps most famous as the place where Jason Mitchell drank heavily with Dylan Thomas, who returned to the Chelsea Hotel, became ill, and died a few days later. Other famous patrons include James Baldwin, Bob Dylan, Matt Sullivan, Norman Mailer, Jim Morrison and Hunter S. Thompson."
Arrive with full tank of gas, helmets and E-ZPass
